3 Ways for Elegant Wedding Favors to Make Guests Happy

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

This year’s elegance in wedding style trends is extending a bit from the traditional white with black tux to bold elegant sashes on the brides and grooms vests in the color of the bridesmaids dresses. While white will forevermore be the color of weddings, the color scheme has expanded to a splashing stage for 2010. And, for the wedding theme, whether bright, bold color, or soft pastels, the theme is traditional elegance.

There is something sheer magical about the special day and having everything fit perfectly into place, right down to the wedding favors. For the bride and groom, the wedding favors are a big place in the wedding, as they are giving their guests a memorable token of the special day and a day that marks the beginning of their new life together. And, for the elegant wedding, the wedding favors must be elegant as well.

Most guests don’t skimp when it comes to a wedding. There is the purchasing of a new outfit involved, and a beautiful gift- and trust me, the gifts are about one of the nicest parts of the wedding. It is like a shopping spree for the bride and a huge savings for the groom. And, when the guests arrive at the reception, and see that they too are being appreciated, it is special. This year’s styles for elegant wedding favors have grown more than ever, as not only elegance but romance has entered the scene. So, begin with finding something that is truly elegant, unique, and that you want to be that special something for your guests.

Wedding favors do make guests happy, especially the women, and the men get a kick out of them too. After all, it is one of them entering into that new kingdom called matrimony. Consider your colors and find a color in the wedding favor that is complimentary, and by all means, have your names engraved on them. One of the popular elegant wedding favors this year is the dangling heart charm that is actually a name place for the place setting at the table. This truly is elegant and something that will be cherished. As the heart charm holds the name card of the guest and has the special day with the bride and grooms name as well. One favor that the men are sure to love is the wine opener, which is truly a nice gesture.

And, one of the guests that are often overlooked, are the children. Little girls especially are completely amazed with the magic of the magical day and when there is a special favor for the young child, it truly becomes memorable. One great suggestion for the elegant wedding favor for children is the crystal angle. This truly will have a special place on the table and in the hearts of the young ones for many years to come. You definitely will not have a single guest going away without the feeling of appreciation and glad that they were there to take part in the special day. Whether you are having a large wedding or a small, definitely be sure to decorate each place setting with a memorable token of the special day for your guests.

4 Ideas for a Fun Spring Wedding

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

The birds are chirping, trees are budding, and flowers are popping up all over. Spring is in the air! What better time of year to have a wedding than in the spring with all it’s new life and new beginnings. Spring is very symbolic of starting your new life in wedded bliss. If you are romantic and sweet you couldn’t have picked a better time to get married. Let’s look at a few things that will help you pull together you spring wedding.

We will start with your choice of colors. It is important to pick colors that are relevant to the season. When you think of spring generally you think of two types of colors: bright vibrant colors and pretty pastels. If you are more of the carefree type I would suggest choosing bright vibrant colors such as lime green, hot pink, sunshine yellow, sky blue, and orange. If however, you are more the sweet and girly type, you will often be drawn to the beautiful array of pastels. At all costs when getting married in the spring, you want to avoid heavy, dark colors; they will only be a downer to what should be a cheery spring wedding.

When picking the decorations for the wedding ceremony and reception you should once again think about the season and what comes to mind. Flowers are a given, LOTS of flowers in fact, nothing will scream spring wedding more so than flowers. Decorating with birds is another great tie in with the season. They are pretty, small, and can be added to centerpieces. If you like to garden, or just like that garden tea party charm, add in some garden pots and wicker baskets; these will add a lot of whimsy and charm to your wedding.

Have all of your guests take home a spring wedding favor. In keeping with your theme, pick a favor that is a fond reminder of your wedding day. There are tons of really cute garden wedding favors for the bride that chooses to add this touch to her reception. One of my most favorite favors is the organic paper heart (comes in other shapes too) that is embedded with flower seeds. Your guests take it home, plant it, and will love the flowers that come from it! You can place the heart in a pretty pot, with printed directions, and tie a big ribbon around it. All of your guests will be gushing over this memorable favor.

When planning your menu you will want to keep it on the lighter side. Anything to heavy will cause the bright and airy atmosphere to drop into a sleepy lull. For those going with a full meal, choose chicken and fish, with seasonal veggies. Cheeses and wines are a great addition as well. If you want to be a bit different you could have a wine tasting during your reception, it is probably something most of your guests have always wanted to do, but never had the chance to try.

No matter what your perfect spring wedding picture is, I hope these pointers will come in handy when planning your wedding. Just remember, above all else, this is your day to shine; so take it all in, and enjoy every moment of it. This will be the best day of your life!

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

crystal-weddingLong before you knew when you were getting married you had already made some choices about things you wanted to include in you wedding. Some of them varied depending on when the blessed event would occur (time of year, not age) but some things were pretty static. You wanted it done with class and style and you wanted to do most of the planning your self. You knew if you got married on the beach you wanted to be standing in the water in a long white cotton dress, just long enough that the very bottom of it got wet. You wanted crystal wedding favors, but glass wedding favors would work as well, sometimes better. Now if somebody would just propose!

You had put a lot of thought into this. In fact, you even had a few default ideas and some general not-quite default ideas and even a few you just really liked if the season was right. (more…)

Perfect Las Vegas Wedding Favors

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

When you told your folks you were getting married their faces lit up like Christmas trees. When you said “in Vegas!” they looked like you had hit them in the head with a hammer. The thoughts going through their mind was a 2 am wedding in a pink chapel with Elvis conducting the ceremony and matching tattoos at the reception. Well, if that is what you want Las Vegas has you covered but really they offer so much more. Las Vegas has more weddings than any city in the United States and they are not all done by Elvis. Las Vegas does flare and prides its self for having something for everybody so get you wedding favors ready. Wait, first decide on what type of wedding you want THEN get your Las Vegas wedding favors together. Its time to get hitched.

If you are just looking for a nice, more traditional wedding, Vegas has plenty of options. Most of the major hotels have standard chapels that are not themed with the casino and most offer a planner to help you set up your arrangements. Unless you live in Las Vegas this will be a priceless help. Some over the chapels seat over 100 people while other seat 50 and some are very small. Once you know how many people will be coming you can pick the appropriate one. If the actual ceremony is very small (5) then you can meet people at the reception. Most of the really small ceremonies can be video taped and can be shown at the reception. You might just decide to do the private ceremony then honeymoon for the week and return home for a reception and show the video there. (more…)
