
Linen being one of the earliest products known to human civilization has a historical heritage that goes back to centuries. During the times when man was in the most basic phase of his development and was trying to survive on the resources provided to him by wild animals, the only form of fabric they had, to cover their bodies with, was animal skin.
In the later years, the nomadic communities came into being. These communities used to drive herds of cattle across the plains of eastern Europe. It was during the period of the great migrations that wool obtained from flocks of sheep was also used as an item of clothing.
After quite some years, man decided to settle down and so cities were built to stay and reside in. Now the humankind got familiar with harvesting and cultivating land. The components of the soil contained flax, which was created from fiber; this became the actual origin of linen production. As per this narration and concept, linen is believed to be primeval vegetable fabric that the humans used to weave.
The heritage of linen continued to grow with the passage of time. For a fact, linen has been specified in certain Biblical stories as well. As for example, the story concerning Jehovah wanting to fight the Egyptians as they had captivated his chosen people, the crops and fields near the fertile land of River Nile were destroyed by plague.
