Anti Aging Information For Those Who Seek To Hold Onto Youth

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

Whatever the season, be it Summer or Winter, vigilance with our Skin Care regime, has to be ongoing. Treatments may vary, but are always ongoing. It can be the chill of winter or those balmy days by the sea, both of which cause our skin to dry out. This dry skin then goes towards speeding up the ageing process.

If you’re a sun worshipper, it is imperative that you use a highly rated sun block to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. While you are away from the sun, skin care can be just as critical. Using a moisturizer every day will help to stifle the effects of ageing and keep your skin soft and wrinkle free.

There is a myriad of choice concerning types and brands of moisturizer available for purchase, on the market. This expansive range can be a burden in itself, as you attempt to put together a skin care plan. Be sure to take the time and research each of your options for suitability including cost, and your personal desire for healthy skin. You will probably have to try many types, then discard those that don’t come up to the mark.

Once you’ve settled on a product line that suits you, be consistent and consider the need to make some adjustments as the seasons change. If you live in a part of the country that delivers harsh winters, you’ll want to make some adjustments in the winter to accommodate those brutal winter winds. Wind damage can be just as harmful as the sun when it comes to your skin. Be aware of those differences and make the necessary adjustments to your skin care regime.

A sense of progress and achievement can result from making those subtle changes towards treatments to suit the changing seasons. Healthy skin is always your goal. Whether you’re young or old, paying attention and applying a little effort at this time, means you will certainly reap the rewards. The chances of wrinkles forming are certainly increased, when skin is dry and not moisturized regularly.

From an early age onwards,if you take care of your skin, rest assured, that you will be minimising the effects of the ageing process over time, which results in fewer wrinkles. So as the stress starts to build with your friends, as they rush about searching for a cure to those wrinkles gathering around their eyes and lips, they will be rushing to you. As you have discovered already, the secret of ageless beauty.

The time you invest in looking after you’re skin, will always pay dividends in the end. Your friends will be green with envy, as the results are plain to see, for everyone. Those efforts you endured in the early days, have now flourished, and your skin looks young and beautiful.

The complexion of your skin is the ultimate truth, towards identifying your age. So adopt a healthy skin care regime and minimise the effects of ageing. Decide early on a plan, and stick at it.

What Are BOTOX Injections

Friday, August 6th, 2010

BOTOX is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to treat different muscle problems. It is prescribed to treat the abnormal head position and neck pain that happens with cervical dystonia (CD) in adults and to treat certain types of eye muscle problems (strabismus) or abnormal spasm of the eyelids (blepharospasm) in people who are equal to or older than 12 years. Botulinum toxin is a lethal naturally occurring substance, but when carefully isolated and purified can be used as an effective and powerful medication.

BOTOX for cosmetic indications is a simple, physician-administered, non-surgical treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe excessive sweating, forehead Lines, frown Lines and crow’s Feet. It is the only therapy that is approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA). BOTOX is also injected into the skin to treat the symptoms of severe underarm sweating, also known as severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis, when medicines used on the skin do not work well.

Botulinum toxin is a medication and a neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, and is known to be very toxic with an LD50 of roughly 0.005-0.05 g/kg. Despite its deadly toxic effect, a few times it is also used in very small doses to treat muscle spasms.

In cosmetics, a Botox injection that consists of a small dose of botulinum toxin can be used to prevent formation of wrinkles by paralyzing facial muscles. The wrinkle preventing effect of Botox lasts for approximately 3-4 months, up to 6 months. The providers of Botox Cosmetics include dermatologists, plastic surgeons, cosmetic physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, and medical spas.

Botox, in addition to its cosmetic applications, is also currently used in the treating spasms and dystonias, which it effectively suppresses for 60-70 days. The main conditions include: Cervical dystonia (spasmodic torticollis) (a neuromuscular disorder involving the head and neck), Blepharospasm (excessive blinking), Severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), Achalasia (failure of the lower oesophageal sphincter to relax), Local intradermal injection of BTX-A is helpful in chronic focal painful neuropathies. The analgesic effects are not dependent on changes in muscle tone, Migraine and other headache disorders, although the evidence is conflicting in this indication.

The other uses of botulinum toxin type A that are widely known but not specifically approved by FDA (off-label uses) include treatment of: Pediatric incontinence, incontinence due to overactive bladder, and incontinence due to neurogenic bladder, Anal fissure, Spastic disorders associated with injury or disease of the central nervous system including trauma, stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, or cerebral palsy, Focal dystonias affecting the limbs, face, jaw, or vocal cords, TMJ pain disorders, Diabetic neuropathy, Wound healing, Excessive salivation, Vocal cord dysfunction (VCD) including spasmodic dysphonia and tremor, Reduction of the Masseter muscle for decreasing the size of the lower jaw, treatment and prevention of chronic headache and chronic musculoskeletal pain are emerging uses for botulinum toxin type A. In addition, there is evidence that Botox may aid in weight loss by increasing the gastric emptying time.

Fashion And Ladies Golf Attire

Sunday, August 1st, 2010

I was reading one of those ‘Golfing for Women’ magazines the other day and started wondering where the women are, who wear the golf attire modeled in women’s golf magazines? I’ve never seen women, professionals included, who would dress in such expensive and outrageous clothing!

It’s easy to spend lots of money fitting yourself out for golf. What with hats, sunglasses, gloves, shirts, shorts, socks, windsheeters and shoes, the costs add up very quickly, even if you do your shopping at the sales. Then factor in the cost of clubs, balls, bag, cart and fees and you have to play very often to keep the “CPU” (cost per use) down to an acceptable level.

One half-page glossy advert showed a beautiful young ‘golfing lady’ in really tiny hot-pants (as if that’s permitted on golfing greens!) that cost nearly $300, a golf shirt at almost $600, a jacket by Ralph Lauren at almost $200 and two-toned Utuser shoes costing $400 plus.

That adds up to almost $1,500! I know that I could never hope to get the CPU on that outfit down to anywhere near a normal limit in my lifetime! Don’t get me wrong – I love clothes and I really love shoes, but could never afford, or even want, golf shoes or pants that cost more than most people’s weekly wage.

Granted, you want comfortable golfing shoes that don’t look like a pair of clogs, but really, you can buy cheaper and still a la mode golf shoes.

I have several really stylish golfing outfits, although none of them are famous brand names. If I totalled up the cost of all of those articles of clothing, it would not come to the cost of a Tse golf shirt. Personally, I would prefer to have several nice outfits than one that is priced over-the-top.

If I were to wear a $1,500 set of clothes to play golf in, I would just be too worried about getting it dirty or perspiring in it to play a decent game of golf.

The Benefits Of A Professional Manicure And Pedicure

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

Your hands are constantly on show, and in summer, your feet are too. Neat, well-cared for nails add immeasurably to the appearance of your hands and feet, whether you are male or female. Treating yourself to a manicure and pedicure regularly keeps your hands, feet and nails in optimum condition.

There is a lot more to a manicure and pedicure than just filing your nails and adding a coat or two of polish. Most treatments will include exfoliating the skin to remove dead cells, smoothing the surface and stimulating regeneration. Calluses and dead skin are removed from the feet with pumice, which not only makes your feet look much better – it makes them feel much better too. Many aches and pains in feet result from standing on calluses and uneven areas all day.

Cuticles are trimmed and treated with special hydrating products. Creams are used to massage the forearm and hand, as well as the lower leg and foot. This not only moisturizes them, it also improves blood circulation, important for skin rejuvenation. Pain from arthritis and other ailments is also relieved by the professional massage you will receive.

Many people may not realise it, but there are many nail diseases that a manicurist will be able to recognise. Some are highly infectious and may preclude the manicurist from giving you any procedures until they are treated. Fungal infections can be cured easily if caught early, but many nail diseases will require a doctor’s attention.

Your manicure will continue with your nails being cleaned, buffed, trimmed and shaped. You can choose the length and shape you prefer. If you are having nail polish applied, you will then choose a colour from the salon’s selection, or you can bring your own. A French manicure always looks fabulous when it is done at the salon. You will get a base coat, two coats of polish and a top coat. Often a treatment, such as cuticle oil, is added after the last coat of polish to help maintain the condition of the nails and cuticles. You should try not to bump or smudge the nails for at least an hour after you have had them done.

Although you may be able to apply nail polish yourself, it is unlikely that you will take the time or trouble to apply all the other treatments and procedures that a professional manicure and pedicure provides. In addition to all the extra pampering, you can expect a professional manicure to last about three weeks, and a pedicure can last up to 5 or 6 weeks. During that time you will be able to proudly bare your hands and feet, comfortable with the super soft condition of the skin and the quality of the treatment.

For special occasions or summer vacations, get a professional manicure or pedicure at a salon. Mobile salon services are a convenient way to get a manicure or pedicure in the comfort of your own home or at the office. A last minute invitation or time constraints are easily dealt with, as the salon will send a technician to your location to give you the same professional treatment you would get at the salon. It also saves you travelling time, and helps to prevent smudges before the nails are properly dried.

Try as you might, a home manicure is unlikely to look as good or last as long as a professional manicure and pedicure. Professionally applied, using superior products, salons offer a superb service that not only gives you great looking hands, feet and nails, it also gives you a relaxing opportunity to be pampered.

Making Sure You Have The Tattoo Supplies That You Need

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

When you first get started, or even if you already have, tattoo supplies are a must for each artist. As you learn more about the profession and grow within it, what you use and how you use it will change with you. There are tattoo machines, inks, needles and countless other things that you will need

When purchasing supplies, you will at some point end up buying individual pieces. If you are looking to buy multiple items at once, a kit may be the way to go. Whatever you have for a price range, you may just find the right one for you.

In your standardized kit you will most likely receive a tattoo machine, or, in other words, a tattoo gun. They consist of three pieces such as the coil wrap, the grip, and the tips. There is also the power supply and the pedal along with attached cables to make your machine run. To keep your machine together and running, you will need rubber bands, rubber rings, and grommets.

There are several things that you still need for basic tattooing supplies that may not come in a kit. Needles, for one, may be one of those things. You can buy them individually or in large quantities. The sizes and types vary depending on your preference as an artist. Then, there is practice skin. When trying out a new machine, this can come in handy so you can get some practice in before working on real skin.

When looking for ink, you have as many colors to choose from as you can find. From one brand to another, it is not only the color that matters, but its consistency and how it is made. Different inks are good for different skin tones and types, including covering up scars. Most tattoo inks are derived from metals, which can cause skin irritations. If this is a concern that you have while choosing your inks, there are also organic inks to consider.

The needles that you choose to use are also very important. What you prefer as an artist will determine what kind of needles that you will keep in stock. The two main types are the round and the flat. With a round type set, it is where there are several needles put together to form a round shape. A flat type setup is where several needles are placed in a single row, or in layers of flat rows.

Tattoo needles are not the only disposable item that you will use each time you tattoo. Paper towels, ink cups, antiseptic spray, petroleum jelly for during the procedure, and a cream to be used on the tattoo once it is done are needed and will definitely be used. Having these items close by will make things easier and safer during the tattoo.

Finding most tattoo supplies does not have to be very difficult, though at times the best of quality items can be more difficult. While some are disposable such as needles and ink caps, things such as your machine and power supply will become a constant companion. No matter what your level of tattooing is, all these things and perhaps more will become a constant in your shop.
