Collar Pins – Smart Marketing Tools For Your Company

Friday, January 8th, 2010

A corporate gift is as important as any other organization strategy for a company. Judicious selection of the gift is important, taking into consideration the fact that a corporate gift has many roles to play in an organization’s success.

Collar pins are colourful, trendy and attractive, and thus are ideal items to be gifted in corporate circles. These pins come in innovative designs and can also sport the company’s name on them, which adds to their attractiveness. They can also be engraved with the tagline of the organization or can be profiled like a particular product to make them more relevant.

Owing to their variety, they have a great impact on employees and clients. They make employees realise that they are valued by the management, while the clients feel closer to the service provider, and thus they create the loyalty of these two key groups of people.

Price is a critical factor while selecting a corporate gift. The basic value of collar pins as effective gift items is much higher than their cost, thus any investment on them is always worth the money. Their usefulness makes them popular among the recipients and unlike many other gifts that are mere showpieces beautifying desks at workplaces, collar pins are taken around everywhere. Collar pins are often worn by employees, and their greater use allows higher visibility and awareness of the brand among the public.

The companies, however, have some important points to remember before they give away collar pins as corporate gifts. They must ensure that they are durable enough as it will make sure that people wear them repeatedly.

The design of collar pins must be such that the owner is persuaded to sport them in the public to make an impression. However, if the pin is gaudy or if it lacks symmetry in design, then people may not like it. Furthermore, the practicality of use must rate high in priority at the time of designing collar pins as corporate gifts.

Corporate gifts are good promotion mediums as they make sure of greater brand visibility when a recipient uses them in the public. Collar pins have all the characteristics to excel at this purpose. They have been used extensively by companies for a long time and have always come out as winners. Companies that have not yet tried collar pins as corporate gifts must take serious note of the immense potential of this tool in creating a successful brand identity.

Investor Mind Control: Is It For Real?

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

Discovering the ‘thumbscrews’ of investors is crucial to getting them to take action. In over a decade of dealing with global investors there are several elements that I’ve discovered to be universal truths about the mind of the private investor (angel investor, accredited investor).

When talking to an investor for the first time, it’s more important to listen than to speak. It’s more important to ask questions than answer them. It’s more important to discover their needs and wants than to exclaim your own. Your first conversation with an investor should be all about piercing the armor and finding the trigger points that prompt a reaction that gets to the center of their ‘childlike’ state.

What I mean by this is, investors, just like anyone else, has insecurities that are rooted in their childhood and what they are outwardly today, is typically a polar opposite of what they are on the inside. For example, an arrogant, chest beater seems proud and obnoxious on the outside but the reality is that they are over compensating for an insecurity that is rooted in an individual or collection of childhood incidents.

Maybe they were made fun of as a child, maybe they’re father was verbally abusive, maybe their teachers would single them out in class opening them up to playground mockery. When talking to these individuals it’s important to listen to their voice and intonation when the conversation topic changes. Take notes on their psychological adjustments to the conversation. After you feel you have discovered the triggers that induce the ‘pleasurable’ responses, end the call, and set your second phone appointment with them.

On that second call, you want to have your conversation ready to go using the triggers you found in the first conversation. Play off of those insecurities that you found, become their best friend without being chummy but it is your mission on this call to be the “guy that understand me” to the investor. You want the overall tone of this conversation to have the response from your target along the theme of, “wow, this guy gets me” , “I can see investing in this company”.

By using this method and not coming across as ‘fake’, you have become an investment opportunity and a shrink all rolled into one. You want to be the one person that this investor can lower his guard to because everything he says, you seem to be the one person who understands him at his deepest level. You seem to naturally be tuned into his insecurities, emotions, needs and wants. Sound strange? Try this out on the next investor you talk to, I guaranty you will be shocked with the results.

Use Lanyards To Publicise Your Company At Corporate Events

Monday, December 28th, 2009

Businesses often end up spending a lot of money on their marketing strategy. At several events, they use their merchandise to create a feeling of belongingness for all the participants. There are many kinds of marketing materials but they all have the same aim of attracting people towards them and forming a good impression of the company. Lanyards are an excellent example of this.

One of the most well known and efficient forms of promotion at corporate events has been T-shirts displaying the logo of the company. However, lanyards, the new entrant in the promotion toolkit is quickly catching up. They are widely used throughout the world, as potential customers often instinctively end up reading the company’s slogan and logo printed on them.

Lanyards can be a very useful tool at corporate events such as conventions, conferences and business fairs. They can be distributed among the people who are taking part in the event. The lanyard may also contain the name of the occasion along with the company name, and hence act as a memorabilia for the recipients.

Lanyards, on account of being cheaper than printed t-shirts, can be a much more economical marketing tool. They generate a significant brand recall and leave a positive impression of the organization on prospective customers.

Apart from being highly effective and inexpensive, lanyards also have other benefits as promotion tools. Lanyard can be printed with lively colours, which helps in drawing people’s notice towards them. They can be used for other things like ID card holders, which means that their usability value is high. Because of its versatility, prospective customers can also take it home and find various uses of it, which gets exposure to your company for a long time.
